We gave Picasso a run for his money this morning making a gift for Anabelle's grandparents. That little creeper to the left watched Anabelle work her magic. Cabbage Patch dolls, (who am I kidding, all dolls) creep me out, but she loves them, so I have to put my childhood nightmares aside. I even played nice and gave little Lola a paintbrush and scrap paper. She decided not to participate and cheer from the sidelines instead.
I put some paint on a paper plate and encouraged Anabelle to paint whatever she wanted on the paper. She got most of the it on the paper, and just for fun painted the chair, the wall, her hands, her clothes, and the picture above her table. I'll put this one in the books as ambidexterity practice, color mixing and sensory stimulation.
The finished product is absolutely gorgeous. I love her use of pastels, don't you? Underneath layers of paint, it says, "Happy Grandparent's Day!" in white crayon, but you can't see it because Pinterest is a deceiving liar. Anything I make from Pinterest never comes out like the picture. Anybody else?
Actually, I like it better like this. The painting is Anabelle and all her glory. And the frame? Well, we can thank Target for that.
Happy Grandparent's Day to all the grandparents out there who spoil their grand babies rotten :)
This is so cute! I bet her grandparents love it! I really like the blend of colors.
